EL BAILE DE LA ZURDA (STREET)
In this creation, LaCerda takes the vital impulse that moves all the bodies that dance to the rhythm of the music, to investigate the nature of dance as movement, but also as a festive meeting space
and a paradigm of collectivity.
Through this research, Edward Tamayo (choreographer of the piece) has created a looping choreographic composition system that focuses on the relationship of the feet with the pelvis, on space, rhythm and the group. This method called "mantras" is inspired by danceable marathons and Latin American musical rhythms.
El Baile de la Zurda is a tribute to dance, to the desire to live dancing despite everything, a tribute also to the Latin American roots of LaCerda’s artistic directors, source of their passion for dance.
