Flornecia

Flornecia is a solo performed by Edward Tamayo that arises from the disappearance of his brother in Colombia.

In this piece the performer delves into the incarnation of the demons themselves, beings that share the same

origin and piece of land, and how the darkness of these demons dances through the body, with pleasure,

danger and cruelty, including and accepting it:

"It has been more than a year and a half since Jonathan is missing. The desire to dance with him again makes

this dance sprout. We moved to his hometown, Mesitas del Colegio, in the region of Cundinamarca, Colombia.
Field and mud, between violence, poverty and abandonment, the dance remains. It dresses in demons and decrepitude, and remains. It undresses like a snake, changes its skin, hurts to the point of despair and always,
unfailingly always, the dance returns, remembers and remains"

Flornecia was premiered in June 2019 in PUF Festival of Croacia and since then it is part of the artistic universe of LaCerda in the creations “Dolorosa de los Llanos” (2021) and “Dos Solos Juntos: Dolorosa & Flornecia” (2023). In August 2023 it was performed in the 5th aniversary of TIC TAC Art Centre of Brussels.

“¿Qué cómo recuerdo al loco de mi hijo?
Se adiestró en el arte de ser otro y otra,

se procuró extremos con manos,

bocas y ojos todos juntos entre piernas.
¿Dónde más podría ir sino al infierno?”
