TEMPO Y TONO
Tempo is the speed of music and dance, while tone refers to the pitch or scale of the music, which influences emotional states and interpretation. These two elements are essential to the expression and dynamics of music and dance.
Building on these premises, Edward Tamayo considers musicality an intrinsic element of dance at its core, which is movement, and questions the intangible relationship between music and dance. Can the performer’s internal rhythm be perceived, even without music? What relationships are established between the performer’s rhythm and the music’s rhythm? What role does the audience's gaze play in this dialogue?
